Saturday Santa Special

Saturday Santa Special: view photos here

The skies were blue, morning sun was low and the grass had kept its dew. Perfect conditions for rugby.

Dustythefitnesspainmaster got the squad into warm ups that can looked like they were told to handle the Christmas Yule Logs with extreme care else they would be on the naughty list.

Gareththedefencecoach meanwhile was setting up a minis rugby golf course.

1st medal tee was for the grubber kick, 2nd tee was the for the up n over kick, 3rd tee was for the bouncing kick, the 4th tee was for the reindeer-leg left footed kick and the 5th tee for the Finn Russel drop goal kick.

After a few rounds the players were into an activity for toes, heels and heads, followed by hands and then onto winning that space to get the ball back.

The much anticipated Captain's P6s v the Coach's P6s arose with such a clatter from the playing fields.

The Captain's P6s whistled, shouted their Mackie name and dashed away with evasive footwork, attacking kicks and offloads to beat the Coach's P6s defences.

Half time for a drink to think and for Dustythefitnesspainmaster to take the whistle for the 2nd half.

In the 2nd half the Coach's P6s had twinkles in their eyes, their cheeks were like roses and noses were like cherries as they managed to stay connected, they found the best space, kept their continuity and maintained good rugby speed to keep the score board ticking over enough to make the last score the winning score.

Alas it was not to be as the Captain's P6s stressed the defence enough to get the rugby ball over the try line for 1 final time.

To finish off, the squad were put through a Christmas obstacle course where they had give their best Christmas answers to the Christmas questions being asked by Andywackysocks2.

Frankiepitchsideconsultant thought is was all over but the Captain's P6s had a wink in their eyes, twisted their heads and Frankiepitchsideconsultant knew he had something to dread. They wanted a rematch!

The Captain's P6s were now facing the Coach's Many P6s where to his team he gave a whistle and away they all flew like the down of thistle as they all exclaimed Merry Christmas to all, and to all thank you for a very successful 2024.

Thanks to the players, pitchside supporters and parents for showing jolly good SCOTS and opportunities to LEARN.

From all the coaching squad, we wish you all Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2025.
