The latest round of the P6 mini league saw Mackie host Aberdeen Grammar in the rearranged fixture.
The coaches took the players through some warm up activities, playing 2v1’s, 1v1 tackle activity and lastly a quick game of touch to warm up their hands.
Dustythefitnesspain stepped up to coach game his 1st half against opposition and right from the start Mackie were up for the game by scoring from each of the first two attacking phases of play. The game continued to be a one sided affair however credit must be given to Grammar for a never give up attitude.
The Mackie attack continued to dominate with some strong straight running and excellent support play and the coaches loved seeing the ball being passed around to constantly change the point of attack.
The first half finished Mackie 12-0 Aberdeen Grammar.
A quick team talk and the second half resumed with a real spirited Grammar team now making it harder for the Mackie attack to dominate.
Frankiethepitchsideconsultant’s favourite try involved Mackie gathering the ball in their own half, a player faking a kick and then running hard and straight down the right wing. Great support play and an interchange of passing then saw a Mackie player free in the middle who then past out wide left to allow yet another support runner to run in for the try.
Great example of running straight, support play and moving the ball from one wing to the other.
Final score Mackie 17-0 Aberdeen Grammar.
Dustythepainmaster and Frankiethepitchsideconsultant were very impressed with how the team have listened and applied the recent coaching feedback from activities and small sided games.
Aberdeen Grammar coaches complimented Mackie on the their ruck speed, tackling and general quickness around the field.
Well done all, it was a great team effort.
