A good win for the U16’s away to Perthshire in the U16 plate quarterfinal.
We were slow to start and Perthshire made a real battle of it, disrupting the rhythm of the team.
After 10 minutes we secured 2 tries in quick succession and this settled the lads into the game. Though Perthshire never really threatened to break through our defence, they certainly didn’t make it easy for us.
Either side of half time four more tries were scored, to put the game out of reach for Perthshire.
The game went developmental midway through the second half.
Final Score: Perthshire 0 - Mackie 50
Man of the Match:
Callum Allen - controlled the game from 10 and kicked well both off the tee and out of hands.
A good team effort and we are now through to the semi-finals where we will play either Deeside, Kelso or the winner of the Dundee/Melrose match.
Our next focus is our Boroughmuir match on Saturday.
