Evening all, match report from today's game vs Stirling which ended in a frustrating 41-24 defeat.
We started the game very much on the front foot by pushing up when in defence, forcing the error and turning over the ball which resulted us racing into a 12-0 lead following tries from Rory and Evan. A succession of silly Mackie enforced errors, which was to be the pattern for the rest of the game, let Stirling back into it and we finished the first half 12-12.
Second half, we again took an early lead with Fraser crashing over but once again a series of simple errors let Stirling back into it. We then gifted some unfortunate tries before Brian finished off the best move of the game scoring between the posts. However some late tries by Stirling meant the score finished 41-24 which does not tell the story of the match. We need to work harder in the ruck, both from a defensive and attacking perspective and react faster to balls going wide.
Some performances of the season for Charlie and Callum (we were dominating the scrums) and a special shout out to Sam, Duncan, Evan, Magnus and Archie all from the U14's who stepped up and did not look out of place. Man of the match (as voted by Rudi) goes to Rory who led by example and put in some excellent tacklesĀ andĀ runs.
