Well done to the U15 lads for putting in a good shift against a well organised Boroughmuir team today. Sadly we were unable to convert early momentum into a win with the final score 26-17 for the visitors.
After a positive start with excellent energy and commitment at the breakdown Mackie had B'muir in the back foot with pressure converted to points with a try from Rory. A few missed tackles let B'Muir back into the game as they scored twice before half time.
Mackie kept their heads up and refocused and were rewarded with a converted try from Andrew bringing us within 2 points.
Despite spirited defence and some good attacking runs from the lads the visitors scored again twice to go 26-12 up.
Another valiant try from Rory in the last few minutes of the game, but we ran out of time and the game was up.
Some really good commitment from the boys who went in with a positive attitude, and as ever some things to take away and learn from. Disappointing only in that we all felt it was a game that we could have won.
Many very positive performances and significant improvements making man of the match a difficult choice, but this week it goes to Ross for some great play on the wing.
